Add an offer countdown above the buy button

The Offer countdown above the buy button template adds a countdown card to your product page, above the buy button. It is not a popup. It appears on the page itself, counts down to your offer's end date, and disappears from your store when the offer ends.

When to use this article​

  • You have an offer with an end date and want customers to see it next to the buy button.
  • You want a countdown on product pages without a popup covering the page.

Before you start​

  • Countdown Timer is available on Salla only for now.
  • Decide your offer's end date and time.
  • Each store gets one offer countdown from this template. If you choose the template again, your existing countdown opens so you can edit it.

Steps​

  1. In the menu on the left, click Countdown timer. If a submenu opens, click Available templates.
  2. Find the Offer countdown above the buy button card. Hover over the card, then click Choose template.
  3. In the Create a new popup window, enter a name or leave the field empty, then click Save. The Inline product countdown page opens.
  1. In Campaign, check the Campaign name and make sure Enabled is turned on. The name is for you only. Customers do not see it.
  2. In Template, leave Offer card (days and hours) selected.
  3. In Content, edit Badge, Heading and Helper text if you want. These fields come filled in with Arabic text, whatever your dashboard language. In English it reads "Limited-time offer", "Offer ends in" and "Order now before the timer runs out." Customers see this text on the product page, so replace it with your own words if your store is in English.
  4. In Timer, leave Fixed end time selected, then choose your offer's end date and time in Ends at. The time uses Saudi Arabia time (UTC+3). The default end is 3 days from today at 11:59 PM.
  5. In Placement, leave Auto inside product info selected.
  6. In Targeting, choose All product pages, Specific products, Specific categories or Specific tags.
  7. In Colors, change the colors if you want. Check the result in Preview.
  8. Click Save and publish. The page reloads in edit mode, a success message appears, and the button becomes Update.

On tablet-size screens and larger, Back and Save and publish (or Update) sit in a fixed bar at the bottom of the screen, together with the save status: Saved or Unsaved changes.

What your customers see​

  • On the product page, the countdown card appears above the buy button, with days, hours, minutes and seconds.
  • The countdown appears on product pages only, based on what you chose in Targeting.
  • When the Ends at date arrives, the countdown disappears from your store.

Edit or turn off the countdown later​

  1. Open Available templates, click Choose template on the same card, then click Save. Your existing countdown opens.
  2. To extend the offer, change Ends at. To stop the countdown, turn off Enabled.
  3. Click Update.

Check that it works​

  1. Open a product page of your store in a private browsing window.
  2. Check that the countdown card is above the buy button and that the time left matches your offer's end date.

Common errors​
