Edit prizes, coupons and wheel segments
Use this article to change the segments of your wheel: the text inside the wheel, the prize, the coupon code, the color and the win chance.
When to use this article
- You want to change the prizes your customers see.
- You want to add a coupon code to each prize.
- You want some prizes to come up less often than others.
Before you start
- Open the Wheel editor from My campaigns: click the Edit icon next to the wheel.
- Create the coupons in Salla first (Marketing Tools > Discount Coupons). PopupSnap does not create coupons in Salla.
Steps
- Scroll down to the Prizes and coupons card. Each row in the table is one segment of the wheel.
- To add a segment, click Add prize.
- In the Text inside wheel column, enter the text shown on the segment, such as "20% off". This field is required and takes up to 50 characters.
- In the What the customer gets column, enter the prize as the customer sees it. This field is optional and takes up to 100 characters.
- In the Coupon code column, paste the code you created in Salla, such as
SAVE20. - Choose the Segment color.
- In the Win chance column, enter a number from 1 to 100. A segment with a higher number comes up more often.
- Click Save changes.
How many segments do you need?
- The minimum is two segments and the maximum is 12.
- If you try to add a 13th segment, the message "Maximum 12 sections" appears.
- If you save with only one segment on the wheel, the message "Add at least two segments so the wheel can work." appears.
- To delete a segment, click the trash icon in its row. The segment is deleted right away, with no confirmation.
What does "win chance" mean?
It is a relative weight, not a percentage. Under the field, PopupSnap shows an approximate percentage such as "About 25.0% of results". PopupSnap calculates it by dividing the segment's number by the total of all the segment numbers.
Example: with two segments numbered 1 and 3, the first shows "About 25.0% of results" and the second shows "About 75.0% of results".
Use "Suggest codes" with care
The Suggest codes button fills empty code fields with codes such as WIN01 and WIN02. The message "Coupon codes suggested for empty coupon fields" appears.
These codes are placeholders only. Create coupons with the same codes in Salla, or replace them with real codes. Otherwise the winner cannot use the code.
Check readiness before you save
The Wheel setup steps panel shows four checks: Segments complete, Rewards clear, Coupons are unique and Winning message ready. The Fix before saving section lists what blocks saving. The Optional suggestions to improve the experience section lists what you can ignore.
In the Status column you see the state of each segment, such as Ready, Text required or Duplicate coupon.
Check that it works
- The message "Changes saved successfully" appears.
- The live preview shows the segment text and colors.
- Each prize has a different, valid coupon in Salla.
Common errors
| What you see | Fix |
|---|---|
| "Enter text for every segment." | Enter text in Text inside wheel for every segment. |
| "Coupon {code} is used in slices {rows}. Give each slice its own code." | Change the code in one of the segments. PopupSnap ignores upper and lower case when it compares codes. |
| "Check the prize and coupon settings." | Check the Status column and fix the marked rows. |
| "Segment text must be 50 characters or fewer." | Shorten the text inside the wheel. |
| "Coupon code must be 50 characters or fewer." | Use a shorter code. |
FAQ
Does the "Coupon code" field create a coupon in Salla?
No. The field is plain text that you type. PopupSnap does not create a coupon in Salla and does not check it. Create the coupon in Salla, and set its end date and usage limit there. See Understand coupon codes in Lucky Wheel.
Does every customer get the same code?
Yes. Every customer whose wheel stops on a given segment gets that segment's code.
Can I choose the winning segment?
You cannot choose a specific segment for each customer. You only control the Win chance of each segment, and the result is drawn based on those numbers.
Can I reorder the segments or change the wheel size?
The editor has no setting for segment order or wheel size. The wheel's shape and pointer come from the template.
