Understand coupon codes in Lucky Wheel

This article explains what the Coupon code field in the wheel does, and what you still need to set up in Salla.

When to use this article

  • You want to know whether PopupSnap creates the coupon for you.
  • You want to know where the code appears for the customer and where it is saved.
  • You want to know how to set the coupon's end date and usage limit.

The idea in brief

  • The code is text that you enter in the wheel.
  • PopupSnap does not create the coupon in Salla, and does not check that it is valid.
  • Every customer whose wheel stops on a given segment gets that segment's code.
  • You set the end date and the usage limit in the coupon settings in Salla.

Steps

  1. In Salla, go to Marketing Tools > Discount Coupons and create a coupon for each prize. Set the end date and the usage limit there.
  2. In PopupSnap, open the Wheel editor from My campaigns.
  3. In the Prizes and coupons card, paste each code in the Coupon code column of the right segment.
  4. Click Save changes.
  5. In the Live preview, choose Test winning result and check that the code appears with each result.

Where does the code appear?

  • The customer sees it on the result page, with a Copy code button.
  • It is saved with the customer's data on the Subscribers page, and in the export file in a column named coupon.
  • PopupSnap does not save the prize text, only the code.

The code does not appear in order reports

PopupSnap does not use the code to measure orders. See Track orders and revenue from Lucky Wheel.

Check that it works

  • Every winning segment has a coupon code.
  • The code in Salla is spelled exactly the same way.
  • Try the code in your Salla store before you publish.

Common errors

What you seeFix
"Coupon {code} is used in slices {rows}. Give each slice its own code."Use a different code for each segment. The comparison ignores upper and lower case.
The customer copies the code and it does not work in SallaCheck that the coupon exists in Salla and has not expired or reached its use limit.
Codes such as WIN01The Suggest codes button created them, and they are placeholders. Create coupons with the same codes in Salla, or replace them.

FAQ

Does PopupSnap check the coupon at checkout?

No. Salla checks it at checkout.

Can two segments use the same code?

No. If you repeat a code in two segments, PopupSnap blocks the save. Give each segment its own code.

Does the code expire automatically?

You set the coupon's end date and usage limit in Salla. The wheel only shows the text you entered.

Can I leave a segment without a code?

Yes. PopupSnap then shows "There's no code for this result." But the winner gets no use out of a winning segment with no code, so add a code to every prize.
