Set how often visitors see the countdown

Display frequency sets how many times the same visitor sees the countdown.

When to use this article​

  • You do not want the countdown to bother visitors by appearing on every page.
  • You want to set how long it stays on the screen.

Before you start​

Steps​

  1. Open the Display tab.
  2. Open the Display options section by clicking its title, then choose Display frequency.
  3. Choose one:
    • Every time
    • Once per session
    • Once per browser
    • Specific number of times per user: enter the number in Number of displays (1-10).
  4. In Display duration, enter the number of seconds the countdown stays. The value -1 means it stays until the visitor closes it.
  5. Click Save.

Displays are counted per browser. The Until terms are accepted option is meant for terms-and-conditions popups, and we do not recommend it for a countdown.

If you enter a number outside 1 to 10, The number must be between 1 and 10 appears.

Check that it works​

  • "Updated successfully" appears after you save.
  • Open your store more than once and check that the display matches your choice.
