Choose where the wheel appears

Use this article to choose the pages and devices where the wheel appears.

Pages have two separate settings, and both settings must allow the page:

  • In the Wheel editor: Where the wheel appears.
  • On the popup settings page: All pages or Targeted pages.

Neither setting widens what the other one narrows, and saving one does not change the other. When one of them is narrower than all pages, a note appears on both screens. It starts with "The wheel shows only on pages that match both settings…" and names the other screen's choice, with a link to it.

When to use this article

  • You want the wheel on all pages.
  • You want it on the homepage or product pages only.
  • You want it on mobile or desktop only.

Before you start

Decide where you want the wheel to appear, and have the page links ready if you plan to target specific pages.

Steps

First: where it appears in the wheel editor

  1. In the menu on the left, open the Lucky Wheel group, then click Manage popups. The My campaigns page opens.
  2. Click the Edit icon next to the wheel.
  3. Scroll down to the Wheel settings card.
  4. In Where the wheel appears, choose one of:
    • All store pages, the default.
    • Homepage only.
    • Homepage and product pages.
  5. Click Save changes.

Second: pages and devices on the settings page

  1. In the menu on the left, open the Lucky Wheel group, then click Manage popups. The My campaigns page opens. Click … next to the wheel, then Settings (on a phone, tap Settings).
  2. Open the Display tab.
  3. Click the section title Where should the popup appear? to open it. Leave All pages turned on to show the wheel on all pages, or turn it off to see Targeted pages and the Add rule button.
  4. To target specific pages, click Add rule. Choose the rule type and enter the value. The types are Exact match, Contains, Starts with, Ends with, the opposite of each (Does not match exact, Does not contain, Does not start with, Does not end with), and Page contains.
  5. In the same section, scroll down to Devices and turn on Show on desktop, Show on mobile, or both. A large screen is wider than 768 pixels, and a small screen is 768 pixels or narrower. Both are turned on by default.
  6. Click Save.

The wheel appears when all rules are met together, and each rule type can be used only once.

Check that it works

  1. In a private browsing window, open a page in your store that matches your rules, and check that the wheel appears.
  2. Open a page that does not match, and check that the wheel does not appear.
  3. Try mobile and desktop.

Why does the wheel appear on a page I do not want?

Check both settings together: Where the wheel appears in the editor, and the Display rules on the settings page.
