Set the crop shape and size of the customer's image
You set the shape the customer crops their image to before adding it to the cart. Only the shape matters, not the real size: A4 and A3 have the same shape.
- The product has an option where the customer uploads their image. See Let customers upload their logo or photo.
Steps
Path: Products > Open Product Studio > Options
-
Click the image upload option to open its settings.
-
Under Crop shape, choose:
- Free: the customer uploads their image as it is, with no crop screen.
- Square: the customer crops their image to a square before adding it to the cart.
- Set size: the customer crops their image to exactly the shape you choose.
-
If you chose Set size, click one of the ready shapes. They include A4 or A3, 3×4, a 10×15 photo and a 9×16 screen.
For another shape, click Other size and enter the Width and Height.
-
Under Photo direction, choose Portrait only, Landscape only or Customer picks.
With Customer picks, the customer flips the crop to fit their image. To show both directions on the product, click + Spot for landscape photos or + Spot for portrait photos.
-
Click Review & publish, then Publish now. Until then, nothing changes in your store.
What your customers see
The customization goes live in your store within about a minute. After the customer uploads their image, the crop screen opens in the shape you chose. They can zoom and move their image inside the crop.
Good to know
- Photo direction shows only with a Set size shape that is not square.
- A ready shape keeps the current direction, portrait or landscape.
- Advanced crop settings has more settings, such as turning off zoom or move inside the crop.
