Linked to My library or a separate copy?

A linked option follows a set in My library. A copy belongs to its own product only.

What it looks like

Above a linked option is a Linked to library bar with the set name and three buttons.

Use it when

• You sell the same choices in many products, such as sizes. Click Link to a saved set.
• You want a starting point that you change for this product only. Click Copy a set’s choices.
• You edited the set. Drafts update automatically, and published products change when you choose to update them. Save & update and Update & publish publish the edit to those products right away. A product that has other unpublished edits is not published, so publish it yourself.
• You want the option to stay as it is. Click Detach for this product.

Linked and copy

Both put the set's choices in place of the option's current choices. Detach for this product turns the option into a copy right away, with no confirmation message. Deleting the set never touches your store: each product keeps its copy.
