The preview is empty: "The product image appears here"
Usually you uploaded an on-product image for some choices only, and the choice picked now has no image.
What you see
- The product image area in the preview is empty and says "The product image appears here so a customization preview is available."
- You pick another choice in the preview and an image shows, then it disappears with a different choice.
Most likely cause
The preview draws a base image, or the picked choice's image on the product. With no base image, and no on-product image for the picked choice, the preview stays empty.
Fix
Every change here reaches your customers after you publish. The steps are in Review your product and publish it to your store.
1. Upload an image for every choice
Open the option in Options. Its settings open. Under "Does the product photo change when the customer picks?", look at the count, such as "2 of 5 have a picture". Click Upload next to each choice without an image, and upload its image as it shows on the product. Optional: if Use the choice images shows, click it. Product Studio uses the choice image on the product for the choices that do not have one yet. See Make the product photo change with the customer's choice.
2. Start with the default choice
The default choice shows first in the preview. It has a star in the choices list. Upload its image first. Or make a choice that has an image the default: click ⋯ next to it, then Make default.
3. You do not want the image to change
Under "Does the product photo change when the customer picks?", choose No, it stays the same. We hide the images and do not delete them. Check that the product image shows in the preview. Still empty? Contact support and send what helps us solve it.
