Library set images missing, or publishing is blocked

Usually the option the images follow was deleted, or the set changed.

What you see

In Review & publish, you see a card in one of two places:

  • Under Fix before publishing: publishing is blocked until you fix it, for example "The β€œpicture depends on” images in β€œCharacter” point to an option that was deleted. Choose the option again."
  • Under Notes β€” won’t block publishing: you can publish, but the set images may not show the way you want. For example "The option that the pictures in β€œCharacter” vary by no longer exists."

Most likely cause

The option's images follow another option or a set, and one of them changed after you linked them.

Fix

1. The option the images follow was deleted or changed

If the card is under Fix before publishing, publishing is blocked. Click Open option in the card. In Image varies by, choose another option. The image grid starts empty, so fill it in again. If you do not want different images, choose another option first, then Nothing. No other option in the list? Contact support.

If it is a note, publishing is not blocked. Open the option yourself. If the hair color or skin tone option shows in Image varies by, choose Nothing. Then choose it again. If it was deleted, choose another option.

This card blocks publishing. Click Edit option in the card, and the Library opens. Link the set again. If the card stays, contact support.

3. The option has no spot in the preview

This is a note that does not block publishing, but the set images will not show. Open the option. Under "Does the product photo change when the customer picks?", choose Yes, the photo changes. Or choose a part under "Which part of the photo changes?"

4. The set no longer varies by anything

This is a note that does not block publishing. The choice's own image always shows. To bring back the different images, open the set in My library. In Product picture, choose Varies by hair color or Varies by skin tone. Then save and update its products.

5. A choice has an image you set yourself

This is a note that does not block publishing. Your image shows instead of the set images. To use the set images, choose Nothing in Image varies by. This deletes your own images from every choice of the option.

6. The image grid is incomplete

This is a note that does not block publishing. An empty cell shows the choice's main image. Click Open the image grid and fill in the cells, or leave them. The explanation is in Make the image depend on two options together.
